Took a wonderful workshop on the art of Bingata at the Japan Society with my good friend Minji. Bingata is a style of bold graphic colorful prints originating from Okinawa. We created our own bingata art with the traditional stencil process and resist dye-ing... The brushes and dyes were so elegant, as with so many Japanese objects. Learned a lot and am happy with the final product- perhaps it will be a pillow or tote bag?
